In the television show Entourage…hold up, What up Vinnie Chase? Sorry, just needed to holler at my boy real quick… like season 2- Vince asks E to hook him up with Scarlett Johanson (I’m a fan, I had to bust it out). Is this how it works in Hollywood and with celebrities? Have your people call my people…I love it. Bypass the awkward initial bar conversation, skip th... |

I could go on and on about this topic, but I’ll try to keep it short. I don’t hate the celebrity, but rather the people who give a shit about them. For one, they are people just like everybody else- sperm…egg…9 months…here comes a crying baby. Then, as soon as the media gets a hold of them- it’s all over…a celebrity is born. So maybe it’s the media I hate.

There’s nothing noble about struggling when you don’t have to. In fact, you’re an idiot. Suck up your artistic pride, make some coin, and then you can fade into whatever artistic oblivion you’d like. The jealous have coined the phrase ‘selling out’ when an artist cashes in- if you will. Whether you are broke and independent or loaded with a posse, people will always judge your work.

I’ve had it both ways; I’ve worked for a miserable little dictator and a class act. The question of ‘can superiors and inferiors be friends’ is one of great substance and is layered with a variety of factors. I’ll attempt to break it down based on my experiences. One, different genders do not stand a chance at friendship; guy boss, girl employee or vise versa- no shot. Exception: girl is hot, boss i... |

It started off as being humorous, but grew extremely annoying fast; I’m talking about post-graduate conversation. It wasn’t bad when you were still in college because you could make up any shit and they wouldn’t know whether or not you were just lying. I suppose you could do the same after you graduate, but it’d have to be in a place where nobody really knew you. One night you could be Bob the neurosurgeon and the next night Jeff the district attorney- ma... |

We use the term ‘friend’ too loosely; a friend is someone who has your back and who would do most anything for you without questions asked. A friend is loyal and trustworthy; they make an equal effort to stay in touch and are there for you in times of need. Without loyalty, a person is disposable. People put too much stock in disloyal people. With the numerous communication outlets out there, there is absolutely no excuse ... |

When are professional athletes going to realize that they are entertainers and not businessmen? For multiple reasons, we’ll use LeBron James for example. He has stated publicly more than once that he wants to be the youngest billionaire. Let’s get a few things straight, LeBron gets paid to entertain people- he is worth nothing if nobody is willing to pay to watch him. The American sports fan puts money in his pockets.

It seems to me that we measure people in the wrong context. We are not what we do for a living, or the car we drive, or the home we live in. We are products of our past; where we come from, the good or bad we’ve done to other people, and the different stimuli we are driven by. The only way to measure a man, is to strip him of all his material goods, his fame or mediocrity, and false impressions he gives off. A good man has... |

How’s everybody doing? I hope everybody is well. I also hope that there’s some aspect of what we are doing that appeals to you. I’m just grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts and creative side. I don’t expect to please everybody with what I put out, but if I can entertain a couple people and help a few folks feel a little better about their self- then this venture of mine will have been well w... |

Idiotic fads of my generation: snorting lines of Pixy Stix—eyes rolling white, exaggerating a faux sexual gratification most didn’t even understand by twittering and convulsing from the resulted sugar buzz. Or sneaking whiffs of chemicals in Chemistry—students falling out of chairs gasping because they unknowingly sniffed ammonia and didn’t use the recommended waft technique. Or the tribal padlock earrings? Or baggy saggy jeans that made us march like penguins? Or studded dog collars, the echoed hallway barking? Or the light-up sneakers with the deployable rollerblade wheels and metal souls so we could grind staircase railings helmetless? What defined your generation? Looking bac... |

Walking down a boardwalk I see Whack The Iraq: a game where you shoot paintballs at someone dressed like a terrorist. People either laugh or take the imitation murder way too serious. Not long later, Halloween: Trick-or-Treaters dress as terrorists with nooses around their necks. The terrorist’s attire in either case simply mocks a stereotypical Middle Easterner. I wonder how violence and racism and intolerance became so routine? Things have progressively worsened. Kent State, Columbine, Virginia Tech. Shirt propaganda: General Lee Surrendered But I Didn’t has become Speak English or Get Out. How can we pay to be prejudice? How can we facilitate such flippancies? Are we rec... |

Some people feel sorry for these famous folks that the paparazi eat up and spit out. These media-pronounced stars choose to live in L.A., so it comes with living there. If they want a somewhat normal existance, then they can move to some small, rural town. Applicable is the saying ‘if you don’t like the heat, then get out of the kitchen’. Most of these people eat up... |

As the years pass, life becomes more complex and we loose the simple aspects of our lives. When we were younger, we had less responsibility and only a few people to answer to- we lived without having to think all the time. It was a time where we didn’t have to have everything figured out. College came and went- hardly the real world. Yes we had to make decisions on our own, but we were free- we didn’t have a hierarchy of s... |

We all want the American Dream; nice house, nice cars, compatible spouse, healthy children, and financial freedom. It seems to me that the American Dream has evolved through the years with the help of the media. A nice house is now a mansion, a Toyota now a Mercedes, a loveable spouse now a perfect spouse physically, emotionally, and financially, and a once-a-year family vacation now the ability to jet set at will. There’s a cons... |

We are hurting as a country; the other side of the world knows that. Everywhere you look- someone is reminding us. Economic depression is one thing (leave that to those with an economics phd), but it is the depression of our moral that will bring us to our knees. So it’s tough right now- stop crying about it and do your part to fix it- even if its simply keeping your head up. People say that smiles are infectious; I’m not saying smiles will cure the mess we are in, but it w... |

High School Drop Out, Successful Drug Dealer - Jay Z

No wonder this country has an anxiety problem- just being ourselves is not good enough. Breasts- too small. Penis- too small. Not tall or skinny enough. Freckles and blemishes, thinning hair and post adolescent body fat. We aren’t good enough in bed or our resumes aren’t enough for the job we want. It’s a brutal atmosphere to live our lives in.&nbs... |

Baltimore, Maryland- May 16, 2009 the ponies raced. Most just saw horses running around in a circle, but if you looked close- you could see so much more. The workings of society were displayed on the television screen in front of us. These horses are treated like royalty- treated better than the human beings taking care of them. It’s similar to the dogs of the filthy rich that are pampered. Except these dogs’ only value are to their owners.&... |

You say Fraud, I say Freud:
Madoff. With the horrible things he’s done, the lives he’s ruined, all the stuff he’s purchased stolen, the assets he’s obtained, etc. Does anyone else wonder if maybe he’s compensating for a severe deficiency in another area? Someone that evil and greedy, well, let’s just say he’s lacking funds in the Department of Trousery.

As I look around me, the world seems to be melting down and I notice a false sense of optimism from my peers. Everybody thinks that the government will figure this mess out and fix it by putting a bandage over the wound. This is not a scraped knee we are dealing with, rather a metastasizing cancer. Throwing taxpayer’s money at the problem will not solve anything- just temporarily slow it down. As a citizen of this country who is ignored by people of power, I want to know how these wealthy, powerful bureaucrats are going to fix this economic meltdown.
