Depressing yet Funny in an ironic kind of way
Once you get a taste of the good life, it’s tough to go back. Well, this is what our nation faces. Once upon a time we had good jobs and a few nice things. Now we are looking for work and have to pawn off our stuff. Or we can go deeper into debt, which many do. We have evolved as a society or perhaps you could say we have b... |

Red pill, black pill, purple pill (what a great name for a band), and the boring white pill. Depression here, anxiety there, you’re cool but not that guy you are with. The judgment that controls our lives seems so complex, but it’s quite the contrary. Maybe one day ‘normal’ will be a term that challenges a person to define it, but apparently we aren’t there yet. We do have a black president, which is pretty wild considering our nation’s recent past. Anyways, we are still a culture beaten ... |

Is it fair to label all models ‘dumb’? Absolutely not, but there are many models out there living up to the stereotype. The main point should be this: looks will not carry you through life. Once some teenager replaces you on the model totem pole, what are you to do? To be real, without a college degree, you don’t have too many options. Being used to the good life, you are up for a loud and depressing wake-up call. My wisdom would be to save you money when times ... |

So you’ve just received your ‘date anyone’ badge, congratulations. Maybe you’ll be the 1% that makes it as a celebrity couple. OK we get it- you have too much money and your libido is nice and healthy. So you buy a fancy car and house and start dating the people in the gossip tabloids. Maybe it’s a phase or maybe it’s the way you’ll live for the next twenty years. Most people don’t understand the progression into celebrity status; people are common folk first then a celebrity.... |

If you want to know why we all live the way we do then keep reading. If you break it down it’s quite simple- what do we have to live for? Most of us just live without thinking about anything, as we are distracted from life itself. This is the reason that wealthy, happy, poor, and unhappy people all engage in unhealthy activities such as tobacco and alcohol consumption. Maybe we live a healthy lifestyle because we live a comfortable lifestyle or for our family and close friends. Maybe we live recklessly because life su... |

We are not a country composed of people who settle. America is still young, and fragile as we are currently witnessing. We have gotten to our current state with blood, sweat, tears and balls. Yes- balls as in testicles signifying taking risks and fighting for what we want and believe in. Pardon my version of ‘I have a dream’ speech, but I’m tired of all the crying and whining I hear around me. Man up people! I started my business to achieve something great- to l... |

I just watched the film Milk for the first time, and it got me thinking. So I’m writing what it is I’m thinking. The current state of the economy seems to be the focal point in most of my writing lately, as it is with this piece. We have come so far, only to fall again a couple years back. Maybe the topics of success and failure are not linked, and maybe they are. I’m not quite sure, but maybe we can discuss it and come to a conclusion.

From a young age we are told to dream big and work hard. What is lost in adolescent to adult translation is the fact that not everyone can be an actor, musician, professional ball player or business executive. There comes a day when dreams die and the person becomes overwhelmed with trying to figure out what to do next. It is the same principle as dating- trying to remain optimistic in a pessimistic realm. You keep dating because you hope you’ll meet Mrs. Right, but end up settling because you’re quickly approaching 30.&nbs... |

Can I just start by saying how thoroughly disgusted I am by this story of Michaele and Tareq Salahi crashing the State Dinner? Coming only a month or so after the Balloon Boy incident, what won't Americans do to become "famous?" Now we're putting the President of The United States in danger? If two redneck wannabe reality stars can infiltrate one of the most allegedly "secure" areas in the entire country/world, don't you think Al Qaeda might be able to figure out how to, too? Seriously, reality tel... |

COLE CAINE APPROVED FICTION FORUM:
In a society overrun with reality television and excessive shallowness, we thought it'd be nice to have a section of the blog with a little substance, and a nod to the age-old entertainment: The Story. Feel Free to post any stories/interviews/articles you come across in this forum.

March Madness is almost here
This year there is more parody compared to previous seasons, but I do think three teams are a cut above the rest. When looking at final four teams, I want to see two things- veteran point guards and rosters with at least two future NBA players. The three teams I like are Kansas, Kentucky and Syracuse, which pains me to say because I’m a UConn alum.
