Is a sense of style and artistic ability intertwined?  I’m not talking about a big music label artist who has their whole wardrobe picked out by their label’s execs, but rather painters or small time musicians.  Is style and artistic creativity on the same gene?  Maybe it’s natural or maybe it’s influenced by the artists that they look up to.  Or maybe it’s the power of the scarf- artists must have like 100 s...

I’ll read about clothing designers in magazines and it says that they were designing dresses for their sisters when they were 10.  I find that to be kind of creepy, and I also find the need to talk about the humorous stuff I used to parade around in wide smiled and chin up.  Let’s talk about Zubas.  I loved these things; they were comfortable and matched my sports attire perfectly.  And if I woke up on the creative side ...

These were nice kicks circa 1993.  I think I had my first kiss in a pair of L.A. Gears; they were a chick magnet.  I don’t remember any hooky advertisements, but I had to have them for some reason.  Did Marky Mark ever rock L.A. Gears?  I’m not going to try and justify my choice of these sneakers, but I am going to laugh about them.  They were something else; I’d even get the d...

The more attractive a person is, the more they can get creative without looking absolutely ridiculous.  Fashion models can pull off most any look because their attractiveness takes the focus off the clothes they are actually wearing.  If you put the same borderline, daring outfit on two people (one model and one average looking person), you’ll notice that the only reason the outfit looks presentable is because the model has it on.  Fashion labels use attractive people to disp...

I understand and appreciate one’s creative, self expression, but some forms just puzzle me.  The Plastic Glasses, they are everywhere and for some reason people think they look good in them.  If these people were dropping 20 bucks on them, I wouldn’t have as big of a problem with them because they’d be disposable.  But, people are paying $300 for these glasses- which is absurd.  These glasses cost no more than $10 to mak...

The great thing about clothes is that there are an endless number of choices.  A person’s clothing is their own individualistic expression.  Somewhere between caring about what the cool kids thought about us and the images we see in celebrity gossip magazines, we have lost our sense of self.  When you buy clothes, buy them because you like them and feel comfortable wearing them.  Clothes are up for everybody’s interpretation; ...

Before you buy into whether or not a celeb’s fashion sense is legit, consider the following.  When a celeb is affiliated with an agency, there is a team of people picking out their outfit every day because in their line of work- image is everything.  Just because a person can act or sing, doesn’t mean that they have a sense of fashion.  We don’t know if they have a sense of style; unless you know them before they made it big- you are making a pretty big assumption...

Question: Did you ever steal any fashion tips from your wife, Patti?

The Bad Ass Guitarist’s Answer:  I steal women’s clothes.  Charlie Watts got really pissed at me a few years ago.

What’s wrong with the fashion world, are the stereotypes associated with the industry.  You don’t need to be sophisticated, homosexual, feminine, artsy, etc. to be interested in or work in the fashion industry.  You can be any gender, any nationality, any religion, or any sexual preference- and be curious about the world of fashion.

From city to suburbia, there’s a noticeable difference in clothing attire. There are more fashionable people in metropolitan cities; people dress to impress in cities, while people are more casual dressers in suburban towns.  There are many explanations to this occurrence; culture, socioeconomic dispersion, and possibly social competition.  People generally want to one-up their peers, and fashion is a means to distinguish your self from others.  Style is a powerful mean...

I can’t help but to notice the difference in sizing when comparing men’s designer fashion to main stream retail labels.  Designer fashion fits very well; it is slim and constructed for the fit man.  On the other hand, large scale retail brands have a more loose fit.  It’s not that the clothes are unappealing; it’s just that if you are slender and fit- the clothes are too baggy.  This sizing difference got me thinki...

Having a sense of style is about being versatile and appearing as though you just threw something on because you just don’t care how you’re perceived- but in actuality you thought carefully about it.  You can tell if somebody has a sense of style by the way they rock denim, a t-shirt and sneakers.  Simple enough, yet very revealing about the person underneath the casual attire.  How the garments fit are most important; if the jeans are slim fit, then the t-shirt has to be slim fit.  And if the jeans...
