$100 billion spent on Missile Defense Shield (M.D.S.) technology has resulted in a concept of intercepting threatening missiles with more missiles or lasers.  We’ve spent $100 billion on lasers?  What do we have to show for it besides laser pointers that get shot in my eye and make me think I’ve gotten cancer?  Where’s the actual shield?  Here’s how to better invest the next $100 billion:
 
*Spend taxpayer dollars to make aluminum foil coolie hats that citizens wear to form human aluminum foil shield.  Scramble threatening missiles’ satellite transmissions and deter them into ocean.
*Collect old bicycle tubes or spend even more taxpayer dollars to make new bicycle ...

It started out as a joke, me saying it like it wouldn’t get that far, but with front-page news each day discussing record-breaking DJI lows, increases in unemployment, increases in foreclosures, etc. etc. etc., how are history books 50+ years from now not seriously going to have an asterisk next to the term “Obamavilles;” and when you look it up in the glossary it’s going to say “see Hoovervilles, pg. XXX.” 

 

Justin Timberlake has nothing to do with anything here.  I actually said this. 

I know there's a lot of jobs on the line here and pride, blah blah blah, but come on!  Are we really going to invest even more money to bailout the American auto industry who've taken advantage of its consumers' pockets and trust for years?  The automobiles they've built have been over-priced and unreliable too long.  Look at any Consumer Reports in the last decade.  They've brought this on themselves, deservingly.  An especially big Screw You to Chrysler, by the way.  I have my reasons.
 
Maybe we can get the Germans and Japanese to outsource factories/jobs to America (more than they do if they do ...
